What is a QR Code?
A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that packs text data — a link, credentials, a contact card, or a message — into a grid of black and white squares a camera can read in an instant. Unlike a traditional barcode, which only holds a short numeric string read in one direction, a QR code is read in two dimensions, so it can hold far more data in the same amount of space.
Every QR code includes built-in error correction, so it still scans correctly even if part of it is smudged, torn, or covered by a logo. PayloadTools defaults to a High correction level whenever a center logo is added, since that's the level of damage tolerance a logo overlay actually needs.
The data format matters as much as the QR pattern itself. A WiFi QR code only works if it encodes the exact WIFI: string phones expect; a contact card only saves correctly if it's valid vCard 3.0.
