Generate a QR Code Online, Free
A QR code encodes text, a URL, or a structured payload like Wi-Fi credentials or a contact card into a scannable square pattern. This tool builds the code as you type, using error-correction so scanners can still read it even if part of the image is damaged, low-contrast, or covered by a logo.
Everything runs in your browser — the text you enter, and the QR code generated from it, are never uploaded to a server. Choose a preset (Text/URL, Wi-Fi, Contact, Phone, SMS, or Social Media), adjust the size, error-correction level, and colors, then download as PNG, JPG, or SVG — or copy the image directly to your clipboard.
Why Generate a QR Code?
Share a Link Without Typing It
Put a URL on a poster, business card, or product packaging — a phone camera scans it instead of someone typing a long address.
Get People Onto Your Wi-Fi Instantly
A Wi-Fi QR code lets guests join your network by scanning, with no need to read out a password letter by letter.
Share Contact Details in One Scan
A vCard QR code adds your name, phone, and email directly to someone's contacts app — no manual entry.
Print-Ready Downloads
Download as SVG for signage and print (scales to any size with no blur), or PNG for quick digital use.
Features
Live Preview
The QR code updates as you type — no separate "generate" step.
Wi-Fi Payloads
Encode a network name, password, and encryption type so scanning connects instantly.
Contact, Phone & SMS
Encode a vCard contact, a phone number, or a pre-filled text message.
Social Media Profiles
Pick a platform icon — Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Telegram, or Pinterest — and just type your username.
Dot & Eye Styles
Pick from a gallery of styles — square, dots, or rounded modules, with square, rounded, or colored corner "eyes."
Size & Error Correction
Adjust the pixel size and choose an error-correction level from L to H.
Custom Colors & Logo
Set a foreground/background color and overlay a logo in the center.
PNG, JPG, or SVG
Download a raster PNG/JPG for quick use, a scalable SVG for print, or copy the image straight to your clipboard.
Tips for a Reliable Scan
Keep strong contrast between the foreground and background colors — light-on-light or dark-on-dark combinations are hard for cameras to read.
If you add a center logo, use error-correction level H (applied automatically) — it lets scanners reconstruct the modules the logo covers.
Test the code with your own phone camera before printing or publishing it anywhere.

FAQ
Is this QR code generator free?
Yes, it is completely free to use with no limits, signup, or account required.
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser. Whatever you type — text, a URL, Wi-Fi credentials, or contact details — is never uploaded or sent to a server.
What can I encode into a QR code?
Plain text or a URL, Wi-Fi network credentials, a contact card (vCard), a phone number, a pre-filled SMS or email, a calendar event, or a social media profile — pick a platform icon (Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Telegram, or Pinterest) and just enter your username.
Does the calendar event QR code work with any calendar app?
Yes. It uses the standard iCalendar format that Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Outlook all recognize when scanned — the event opens pre-filled with your title, time, location, and description, ready to save.
Can I add a logo to the center of the QR code?
Yes. Upload an image and it's placed in the center with a background pad behind it. The error-correction level is automatically set to High so the code still scans correctly with the logo covering part of it.
What is the error-correction level?
It controls how much of the QR code can be damaged, obscured, or low-contrast and still scan correctly — from L (~7% recoverable) to H (~30% recoverable). Higher levels produce a denser code for the same data.
Can I change how the QR code looks — not just the colors?
Yes. A style gallery lets you pick square, dot, or rounded modules, paired with square, rounded, or colored corner "eyes" — click a thumbnail to apply it, or fine-tune the foreground, eye, and background colors independently afterward.
What formats can I download?
PNG or JPG (fixed-resolution images, good for quick digital use) or SVG (scales to any size with no blur, ideal for print). You can also copy the image straight to your clipboard without downloading a file.
Will a Wi-Fi or vCard QR code actually work when scanned?
Yes. Both presets build the exact payload format phone cameras and QR readers expect (WIFI: and vCard 3.0), so scanning connects to the network or adds the contact directly.
